Celebrating 2 Years Of Shaking Things Up

EvolveLAB celebrated its second birthday two weeks ago. This is a big deal. For those that don't know, 50% of businesses fail their first year. 90% after 3 years. We do not take it for granted or shed lightly on the fact that we are still here. We contribute our success to the clients that we continue to serve, and the people that still continue to put up with us. It is also said that behind every great man, is a great women. We would like to recognize our wives for continuing to support us in this amazing adventure.

We decided to celebrate with a few beers at Wynkoop Brewery in Denver, Colorado. The evening was filled with many stories of us laughing at ourselves, including the time that I (Bill) accidentally went live on YouTube without realizing it, and live streamed myself working in my home office unbeknownst to me.

Can't have a birthday without a birthday cake.

There have been quite a few accomplishments we have had this last year including building out our first ever product. It is a tool called Helix that converts SketchUp to real Revit assemblies and has the ability to push back to SketchUp. Give it a try if you haven't yet, and let us know what you think!

We launched the first ever Free EvolveLAB membership, giving you our friends access to free training videos, free Revit add-ins, and our own EvolveLAB forum.

We brought on John Pierson from 60secondrevit as an EvolveLAB Computational BIM Specialist. John has been an amazing addition to the team, and has continued to push EvolveLAB and the rest of the industry forward.

Since John came on board, he helped build EvolveLAB's first ever Dynamo Package, Beaker. Make sure to download it if you haven't yet.

We were awarded with being with being #18 in the top 30 BIM Blogs. Uber nerdy, we know. But we sure are proud of it.

We had Bill Allen's own session The future of BIM is not BIM and it's coming faster than you think live streamed at Autodesk University. If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, be sure to check it out!

So where do we go from here? After our night out we had a team workshop on our office patio, and discussed how we can offer more value to you our friends than anyone else does. We don't just want to be another BIM Consulting firm. We want to be your friends that you can count on. When there is the firm that can't afford a BIM Manager, we want to be your on-demand BIM Manager. When there is a task that needs automated, we want to be there to help. When you have a question, we want to find you find the answer.

We have many things on the horizon that will be announced over the next couple months. We can't wait to share them with you! In the meantime, thank you for celebrating 2 years with us. You all have been a blessing, and we continue to look forward to working with all of you. -EvolveLAB Team
