Revit 2021 Generative Design - Optimization Method

There's a lot of hype and confusion with the new Revit 2021 Generative Design tools. Come join us as we cut straight to the chase and show how to use the "Optimization Method" in the new Revit 2021 Generative Design Tools

Single Objective Optimization

Single objective optimization is when we have only one objective function. In this example, the location of an attractor point for randomizing tile.

Multi-Objective Optimization

Multi-objective optimization involves using multiple objective functions.

In design, we often don't have the luxury of trying to solve for only one problem. In the below example we are trying to solve for multiple objectives including

  • Spacing between tables

  • Average distance to exit doors

  • Views to outside

  • Number of desks
