In this quick workflow we will focus on using the Render Selection Tool. We will start with generating a few renderings, then targeting some other areas of the image to make changes. I will keep the prompts simple to demonstrate that this is accessible for a user of any level. Follow along with your own model!
Step 1: Open Veras
The first step of any rendering is framing up the view. Once we have that lets launch Veras
Step 2: Start with Simple Prompts
Through this workflow I am going to keep prompts very simple. Often users will get paralyzed at the endless options that AI presents them with. Keep it simple. Even with just a few words we can get great results.
I used the following settings for:
Is Interior
Prompt: "modern office space"
Geometry Override: 0
Material Override: 100
Prompt Strength: 60
Render Engine: Version 6 Sharp
Step 3: Switch to Edit tab
Before we get going let's just start with how the tool works. After you activate, a single left click will start a chain of connected strait lines. Note that there is an undo button that you can use if you make a mistake. If you need to trace a more organic or curved shape, just click and hold. As you approach the starting point the line attract and with a click attach to complete the loop.
Step 4: start masking
In the example below I have masked out the ceiling and added the Prompt: "concrete ceiling".
Here are the results:
Step 5: Render Blend
To make the two renderings more cohesive we can use the Render Selection Blend tool.
Step 6: Additional Selections
Next, I move on to this left wall, mask it out and give it a prompt of "bamboo casework, colorful accent wall".
This is the result I liked the most.
Bonus: Seed for predicable results
In the next scene I'm going to replace the chairs. Where this can't be easily masked, I want to make sure the result looks similar to the first image we used. To do this I want to bring both the Prompt and the Seed Number from the first rendering.
After making the selection I will update the prompt with "modern office space, blue chairs, bamboo legs". Then copy the Seed Number into the value for Seed. Because the Settings are the same, the Seed number is the same, and the prompt is nearly the same, we will get results very similar to the first image. This will help the updated image blend, as the materials chosen will be very similar.
The result is so close even with zero blend the edge is almost unnoticeable. After applying just a bit, the selection blends seamlessly.
Conclusion
Trying to find the perfect prompt can be a challenge. With the Render Selection Tool, we can target specific parts of our image to keep the prompts simple. Add in a dash of Render Selection Blend and the combined image will be cohesive. All together we can have targeted control, with low effort, but still arrive at a great result.
